University Of Michigan Solar Car Team

University Of Michigan Solar Car Team - Flashlights Unlimited is proud to be one
of the crew sponsors of this exciting engineering project and its annual race effort.
We have provided free key ring lights, hand torches, and batteries to this intrepid
team of bright minds, proud winners of the 2005 North American Solar Challenge.

The team finished seventh in the 2007 World Solar Challenge, with the help of 5D
MagLite flashlights, Princeton Tec Aurora headlamps, and batteries we provided.

Our contribution to the 2008 team included an Olight T25 flashlight, MiniMagLite &
knife combo sets, L-Cap laser pointer tailcaps, and Astro Arm flexible positioners.
We are pleased to announce that team has taken the first place prize for the 2008
North American Solar Challenge, its fifth national championship, with their reliable
Continuum vehicle finishing over nine hours ahead of its nearest competitors, on a
2400-mile endurance race from Plano Texas to Calgary Alberta!  Even with clouds
and rain and heavy winds along the route, the car averaged over 45 miles per hour.

In 2009, the University of Michigan's newly redesigned Infinium vehicle entered the
World Solar Challenge that ran from Darwin to Adelaide Australia, in late October.
For the 2009 team, Flashlights Unlimited contributed powerful Olight M20 and T15
flashlights and accessories.  The Infinium placed third from a field of more than 20
Challenge-class competitors, completing the entire 3021km course, and finishing
more than six hours ahead of the next car, with an average speed of over 90km/hr.

For 2010, our fifth year of UoMSCT crew sponsorship, we are providing handsome
blue MagLite 2D-LED flashlights, high-visibility yellow-green Princeton Tec Corona
headlamps, and fresh Energizer brand alkaline D and AAA batteries.  We are also
sending along a classic INOVA T2-WB flashlight (original model with TIROS^® lens),
now a collectors item.  Their powerful and sleek  Infinium vehicle will compete in the
2010 American Solar Challenge in June on an 1100-mile course from Oklahoma to
Illinois.  Go Blue!  And go they did!  UMSolarCarTeam has won the 2010 race, and
