Description

The T4 tactical flashlight system was INOVA's first rechargeable light, and one of the
most sophisticated high-power flashlights available at any price.  The crush-resistant,
water-resistant, machined aluminum body has a durable Type III black anodize finish.
Its powerful LED delivers a bright, smooth, non-dimming beam for over two hours per
full charge, and its long-lasting lithium ion battery fully recharges in three hours or less.
The versatile AC / DC charging system is as intelligently engineered as the flashlight, 
not just an afterthought.  INOVA's T4 sets a higher standard for the flashlight industry,
and redefines hand-held tactical lights with its blinding power and rugged good looks.

In keeping with its long history of enhancements and innovations, the T4 has been up-
graded again for 2021.  The latest model is even brighter than before, and now offers
six easily-selectable operating modes (including its defensive strobe).  The brightest
level setting delivers a blazing 1300 lumens, in an effective tactical beam pattern that
has a strong central spot and a broad peripheral flood.  For extended battery life (at a
reduced throw range), this model offers continuously adjustable brightness.  Its lowest
setting at 20 lumens is great for up-close tasks like reading that would be blinding at a
higher brightness level.  The tactical strobe mode (at the highest brightness) is always
accessible with just  two quick clicks of the switch (regardless of the current mode), so
you can disorient a combatant at a moment's notice if needed.  The updated charger
cradle is compatible with many of the earlier models, but it now uses a standard USB
cable connector for more versatile recharging (but both AC and DC adapters are still
included, so there is no need to buy any additional hardware).  The new PowerSwitch
feature lets you insert two ordinary CR123A dispoable lithium batteries whenever the
rechargeable battery is fully depleted, for continued operation. Long heralded as one
of the most effective law enforcement torches available, this new T4 model offers even
more features and higher performance than its predecessors, at an amazing low cost.

international power adapter kit, with interchangeable quick-change plugs for US, UK,
European, and Australian power outlet configurations.  Each of these four plug types
is actually used in several countries, and the T4 intelligent charger module operates
from wide a range of line voltages, so a retrofitted T4 system can be recharged from

Be sure to check the brand name label on your AC adapter, and choose accordingly.
The 2010 series T4-MP systems did not have interchangeable plugs on the charger
power module itself, but we have a universal plug kit that offers identical capabilities,
and this universal plug kit will work with every existing version of T4 flashlight system.
The latest T4RE model includes international plugs, so there is nothing else needed.

History

The 2007 T4-WB flashlights offered brightness improvement from 100 to 125 lumens.
The original TIROS™ optical lens focusing system was abandoned, in favor of a new
engineered reflector design, to provide a smoother beam image without ring artifacts.
They were also the first T4 systems to employ a single-ended battery, thus eliminating
electrical conduction through the flashlight body and tailcap, giving improved reliability
for dirty environmental conditions.  This was the first major upgrade for the T4 product.

Totally re-engineered in 2008, T4-MP series systems have an updated charger cradle
assembly and improved lithium-ion battery, plus a brighter LED and a new multi-mode
electronic switch.  The electronic switch provides improved reliability, and offers high-
power, low-power, and high-intensity strobe flasher modes, plus momentary operation.

The T4-MP received another upgrade for 2009.  The factory has again re-designed
the reflector assembly, which now has a mirror-gloss semi-stochastic textured finish.
It delivers an even brighter beam, now a blazing 200 lumens, with better penetration
of smoke and fog, while still providing the preferred tactical-style beam configuration.
The switch timing cycle has been adjusted, allowing for quicker access to the strobe
mode (when you need to disorient a combatant, you need to find this mode quickly).
Now, whether the flashlight is On or Off, two rapid clicks will initiate the strobe mode.

The 2010 model of the T4-MP has all of the same great flashlight features.  But note
that the AC charger adapter module has been changed. The new adapter is smaller
in size and lighter in weight, but it does not use interchangeable plug assemblies, so
it can only be plugged into two-pronged straight-bladed outlets like those found in the
USA, Canada, and Japan.  However, it can still operate from 120VAC to 240VAC at
50Hz or 60Hz, so an expensive voltage conversion transformer will not be required if
you want to use the flashlight in other countries.  We offer inexpensive adapter plugs
that will let you plug the AC charger module into most power outlets around the world.

Available beginning in November of 2010, the latest 2011 model has been upgraded
yet again.  The new T4QM-HB now offers four operating modes (High, Medium, Low,
and Strobe), and its maximum brightness has been boosted to 227 lumens.  The new
model also features new packaging, with ANSI/NEMA-FL1 standardized rating icons.
This new flashlight remains compatible with the series 2008 and later charger cradles.
The AC adapter has been reverted to a wide-body model, with interchangeable plugs.

Available beginning in June, the new 2012 model has a longer model number, but the
flashlight is a tiny bit shorter in length and a smidgen lighter in weight. The new T4R is
brighter, now at 303 lumens maximum, but maintains accessory compatibility with the
2008 and later models and includes the same power adapters as the 2011 series T4.

Available beginning in 4Q 2014, the T4RC model has a different model number that is
conformal to the Nite Ize part numbering schema. The new T4RC is once again much
brighter, now at 571 lumens maximum, but maintains accessory compatibility with the
2008 and later models, and includes the same power adapters as the 2011 and later.

For 4Q 2017, yet another update has been released. And the new features just keep
coming.  The new T4RD model is much brighter of course, and pumps a blazing 850
lumen maximum output.  The lowest setting yields 12 lumens, ideal for reading maps
in the dark without destroying your night vision. But the T4RD no longer limits outputs
to three distinct levels, instead it provides continuously variable brightness with a new
easy-to-use switch interface.  And the revised charger cradle has a USB cord, so you
can recharge from anywhere there is a standard USB jack available (but AC and DC
adapters are still included, so everything you'll need is in the box for immediate use).

As of 4Q 2021, further improvements have been implemented. The T4RE system now
delivers up to 1300 lumens in Blast mode, and offers additional brightness settings at
760 and 210 and 20 lumens (plus a full-brightness strobe mode, of course). The new
PowerSwitch (dual-battery-power) feature lets you remove the included lithium ion re-
chargeable battery and install two readily-available type CR123A (or 123) disposable
batteries. So you can continue to use the flashlight when the rechargeable battery has
been depleted, giving you time to recharge it. And this latest model even includes four
interchangeable power plugs, so you can use it in over 150 countries across the globe
without needing to buy additional wall outlet adapters. Note that the new T4RE battery
is not compatible with the proprietary batteries used in previous T4 and T4R models,
this could be an issue for some owners of legacy versions, contact us for assistance.

Because the venerable T4 has been upgraded repeatedly over the years, some of its
accessory items are not compatible from one year to the next.  We offer accessories
for the discontinued models, for as long as they are available to us.  Items marked as
Sold Out above are not expected to ever become available again, contact the factory
if you need repair service or replacement parts that are no longer available, they may
be able to assist you with upgrading to a new model at a reasonable cost.  If you have
