Want a customized nightlight? The nightlight lens of the 75-046 column model can be
easily removed (just grasp it and pull forward, away from the flashlight body). Stuff the
inside area of the lens cavity with crumpled colored cellophane, colored plastic beads,
scraps of flame-retardant fabrics, or other dry and inert translucent media, and then re-
place the lens onto the flashlight body. Be careful not to overstuff the lens housing, and
use only flame-resistant materials to ensure safety in the unlikely event of electrical fire.
Do not use metal pellets, sand or gravel, or any other fine-grained or metallic materials,
and never place anything moist or gelatinous in the lens, to avoid damage and/or injury.
Change the colors and textures at any time to suit the holidays (use pinks and reds for
Valentine's Day, orange and purple or lime for Halloween, bright colors for Christmas).
Use your children's birthstone colors, or satisfy ages or styles (from infant to granny, or
gothic to hippie), or choose your favorite team's colors, to make each nightlight unique.
Put a different style into every room, or coordinate them to match throughout the house.
Or glue your fabrics and other media to the inside of the lens cover with ordinary water-
based white glue. This way, you will be able to soak the lens cover in water to remove
them, if you later decide to change the decorations. Let everything dry very thoroughly
before reassembling the flashlight. Trim carefully along the edges of the lens cover, to
ensure a snug fit when you reinstall it. Or for a more permanent appearance, paint the
inside or the outside of the lens cover with translucent colors of plastic model paint (be
sure to let your paints dry completely, before reattaching the lens to the flashlight body).
Unlike conventional incandescent nightlights, these lights use cool-burning LED lamps.
There are no hot bulbs to scorch and deteriorate the art media. And these LED lamps
have typical lifespans in the tens of thousands of hours. So your artistic creativity and
craftsmanship can be enjoyed for years to come. Lots of fun to do, really cool to view!
