When performing fluorescent integrity inspections of marine coatings in very large area
environments such as water tanks, a powerful light source is required. But conventional
UItraViolet sources can be extremely hazardous to eyes and skin. Now there is a safer
alternative, the Xenopus Electronix 405nm Deep Purple Inspection Lantern. With seven
bright LEDs, this rugged rechargeable hand-held unit provides the smooth beam image
and extended range you need for this specialized application. The model XE 405 offers
the lowest hourly operating cost of any light source intended for this purpose, thanks to a
long-life rechargeable battery and sophisticated electronics. Made especially for Flash-
lights Unlimited, the new XE 405 lantern may also be appropriate for other uses, when a
suitable UV-like fluorescent response can be achieved with its 405nm peak wavelength.
The new Premium version of the Deep Purple Inspection Lantern incorporates the latest
high-flux 405nm LEDs, and provides a more intense and concentrated beam area than
our Standard model lantern (which has eighty 410nm conventional LEDs). The Premium
model also has a sophisticated new lithium ion battery module and charger system. The
Premium lantern delivers typical runtimes of three to four hours per full charge, more than
double the operating time of our earlier Standard model. And the recharge time is much
shorter, so the Premium lantern spends more time on the job and less time on the bench.
However, only the external 120VAC charger adapter is currently available for this model
(our Standard lantern charges from both 120VAC linepower and 12VDC vehicle outlets).
A handy little front-mounted utility light has a single white LED with fixed focus lens and a
separate switch. Really useful inside water tanks and other dark areas, this feature may
eliminate the need to carry a secondary white-light flashlight for general purpose lighting.

Each lantern is made to order by the Xenopus Electronix factory, so please
allow up to two weeks for shipment, and up to three weeks for final delivery.
