Whenever you need a hands-free positioning device for your flashlight or other
instrument, but you don't want to have anything strapped to your person, Astro
Arm is the perfect solution. Astro Arm will hold your flashlight securely in place
for hours, aiming light exactly where you need it, without fatigue or complaints.
Can also hold other items of varying shapes and sizes (see load limits below).
Astro Arm is available in two sizes, to fit either small or large flashlights, and in
two mounting versions. The spring clamp version has a strong rubber-coated
clamp for attachment to work surfaces and tables. The magnetic base version
has a powerful magnet for attachment to ferrous surfaces (great for automotive
and refrigeration applications). The flexible support arm rotates 360º, and can
be positioned at any angle. The unique flashlight retainer utilizes an adjustable
elastic strap to accommodate flashlights and instruments of varying diameters.
Applications include vehicle maintenance, heating and air conditioning service,
telephone system work, emergency medical lighting, and promotional displays.

Astro Arm is manufactured in the USA from high-quality components, designed
for years of trouble-free service. But it may pay for itself the first time you use it.
New Products: Astro Arm expansion accessories are available now. Segment
packs
contain lengths of flexible armature (six or ten segments), used to extend
the length of existing Astro Arm units. A special tool greatly simplifies the disas-
sembly and reassembly of armature segments. Astro Arm segment packs and
assembly pliers are available in both Mercury (Small) and Gemini (Large) sizes.
Now you can make your Astro Arm as long or as short as you need it to be (note
that significantly extending the length of the arm will reduce its rigid weight limit).
We also now offer a custom-made Gemini Twin Clamp model of the Astro Arm.
It has a large spring clamp at each end of its doubled length of flexible arm, and
is suitable for applications involving circuit boards, metal panels, or flat artwork.
Application Note: Need greater arm rigidity or a heavier flashlight load weight?
Pull two adjacent segments apart to separate the flexible arm into two sections.
Cut a piece of ordinary coat-hanger wire, and insert the wire into one of the two
hollow arm sections. For Mercury models, the wire should be 7/8" shorter than
the total flexible segment length (not including any hardware). For Gemini units,
about 1-3/4" shorter. Reconnect the two segments of flexible arm, and the job
is done. Use the optional assembly pliers (see below) for easier segment work.
Adjust the wire lengths if necessary, for a proper fit. Two pieces of wire can be
inserted in the larger Gemini models, if needed for greater stiffening of the arm.

Special Orders: Both of the Astro

Nickel-plated steel spring clamp with rubber-coated grip surfaces,
or chrome-plated magnetic base with strong ceramic disc magnet.

Clamp models can also use the clamp as a free-standing support.
Just set the clamp on its side, flat on any desk or table or counter
surface, then position the flashlight holder head over the center of
the clamp body for balance. Attach and aim flashlight as desired.
Rubber boots at each and of the clamp prevent surface damage.

up to six ounces and having a maximum barrel diameter of up to 1-5/8".
These Astro Arm models have a single retainer strap and support rail,
and the assembly (not including a flashlight) weighs about four ounces.
The fully extended length of the flexible arm alone, not including the
clamp or magnet base or flashlight retainer, is approximately 5-3/4".
Models with Yellow color segments offer improved acid resistance.
Clamp Model: maximum clamp jaw opening 1", clamp length 4-1/8".
Magnet Model: 2" base diameter, with 25 pound magnet pull strength.

These Astro Arm models all have two retainer straps and support rails,
and the assembly (not including a flashlight) weighs about ten ounces.
The fully extended length of the flexible arm alone, not including the
clamp or magnet base or flashlight retainer, is approximately 7-1/4"
for the Gemini Clamp model, or 5-3/4" for the Gemini Magnet model.
Models with Yellow color segments offer improved acid resistance.
Clamp Model: maximum clamp jaw opening 2", clamp length 6-1/4".
Magnet Model: 2-5/8" base diameter, 35 pound magnet pull strength.
